A local fisherman is calling for the closure of a well-known fishing spot south of Raglan, warning the conditions at Papanui Point are too dangerous.
“It’s not worth a few snappers man,” said Dilshad Perwaisy, who regularly fishes at nearby Ruapuke Beach but avoids Papanui.

A wallaby spotted in Hamilton was probably kept as a pet, the regional council says - and that’s “simply irresponsible”.
