People living in small towns across rural and coastal Waikato could be seeing better access to after hours and urgent healthcare “closer to home” in the future.

The Government announced on Sunday it’s investing $164 million over four years to improve urgent and after hours healthcare across rural and remote parts of the country as part of Budget 2025.

‘Simply irresponsible’: Wallaby likely kept as pet in Hamilton, regional council says

A wallaby spotted in Hamilton was probably kept as a pet, the regional council says - and that’s “simply irresponsible”.

The dama wallaby, which had an immature joey in its pouch, was spotted in Frankton on March 3, reported and killed, Waikato Regional Council says.
