While some reckon Kihikihi’s new cycleway has made the streets safer, others believe it’s been a “terrible” waste of $7.2 million.

The project saw various traffic calming measures installed, along with a two-lane cycleway like a mini road separated from the main drag on Whitmore St by a grass verge.
