Petrol tax:

Margaret from Hamilton East

I should have seen this coming, listening to the late news, I heard Hamilton City Council wants to bring in a Petrol Tax here. Like what has just been brought into Auckland to pay for their infill structure. This Council just won't stop trying to grasp at our last dollar. This Council has no … View moreI should have seen this coming, listening to the late news, I heard Hamilton City Council wants to bring in a Petrol Tax here. Like what has just been brought into Auckland to pay for their infill structure. This Council just won't stop trying to grasp at our last dollar. This Council has no soul, they care not for the people, just for Money. Are they trying to push out the low income earners?

Excess fruit and vegetables - Community Fruit Harvesting

Lynne from Bader

Have you noticed all the feijoas, apples and other fruits lying on the ground in your neighbourhood? I want to cry when I see Granny Smiths lying all around the drive of a neighbour. I want to cry when I see Granny Smiths lying all around the drive of a neighbour. Maybe you have excess chokos, silverbeet, pumpkins? You may not like the produce yourself but there is a Community Group which will come and pick any surplus you have and distribute it to community groups and families. Maybe you have spare glass jars for the group to create all sorts of preserves as well.
