Citizens of Cambridge need not worry that their council is lining up a bid to bring Formula 1 races to the town after contractors sprayed a set of chicanes down one of its streets.
The newly painted ‘centreline’ road markings on Fort Street will have to be covered up to avoid confusion after contractors wiggled their way down the tarmac leaving locals with chicanes hugging one side of the street, but not the other.
However, they were only following instructions, the council says.

Roadworks on SH1 between Hampton Downs and Rangiriri
From 7 to 18 December, there will be night-time closures on SH1 between Hampton Downs and Rangiriri (Sundays to Thursdays, 9pm to 5am) to carry out wire rope barrier maintenance. Please expect delays when travelling through this area.

Hospital ED new location of interest in measles spread
Waikato Hospital’s Emergency Department is the latest location of interest for measles.
Two separate days in the last week were listed on Health NZ’s website on Friday morning as a place where someone with measles was known to have visited.
