Opportunity for Tenor singers
There is an opening for three tenors in our four-part harmony men’s a cappella choir this year. Hamilton’s Mighty River Harmony is looking for choir tenors who have a soaring tenor voice with a musical tone to sing mostly melody in our close harmony style. We are looking for experienced singers who are able to hold their part against other harmony singers and who like to sing a range of music genre including swing standards, show songs, New Zealand music, and arrangements of modern songs. It would be preferable if you are able to read music; however, we provide all scores and training tracks for ear learners. If you fit these criteria, we'd love to arrange an audition with you. As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

Derelict Tokanui Hospital site in line for a clean-up
Derelict Tokanui Hospital buildings will be demolished and contaminated land cleaned up so the site can be offered back to iwi.
The former psychiatric hospital, southeast of Te Awamutu, sits on land taken from Ngāti Maniapoto under the Public Works Act in 1910.
