Kiwanis - Morrinsville - Want to give something back to your community but not sure how?

Jenna from Morrinsville

You have probably never heard of us, even though we've been around for 100 years.

We're a charitable organisation that isn't centered around politics, religion, and is focused solely upon evaluating both children’s issues and community needs on an on-going basis; conducting service projects to respond to those identified needs specific to that community.

We're called Kiwanis which actually has nothing to do with 'Kiwi' or New Zealand. www.kiwanis.org...

Kiwanis is an International charity and the word is actually an American Indian expression meaning 'We Trade' or 'We Build' with the motto of the organisation being 'Serving the children of the World'

Anyway - that's all a bit full on, if you would like to join a group of like minded people of varying ages, professions, backgrounds and skills who are focussed on helping out, and having fun while doing it - then get in touch.

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?
