Hamilton East & West robberies, ram raids increase

Mano Neighbourly Lead from Silverdale

Hamilton East and West were hit by series of weekend robberies and ram raids on 7th August 2021. The previous Government closed all Community Police outlets and centralized the system. The present Government came into power saying they will open up the community police outlets. The reason for escalating violence and crime in Hamilton is closed community police outlets and a shortage of frontline police officers. I understand as per notification received that a second Community Safety meeting had been organized at 7.00 pm on Tuesday 17th August 2021 at Endeavour School, 86 Endeavour Avenue, Flagstaff, Hamilton.

On Tuesday, the Waikato Times revealed Waikato Thoroughbred Racing’s (WTR) plans to buy 150ha of farmland south of Hamilton to house the region’s three racing clubs at a new purpose-built racecourse and event centre.
