Men's Health - Prostate Cancer

Douglas from Leamington

Good afternoon Neighbourly subscribers. I want to draw your attention to the disease of prostate cancer and the value of having a plan to protect yourselves from an unwanted surprise. I am speaking as a survivor of this disease which on average kills 650 men in New Zealand every year and that is a waste - that's right, nearly 2 men every day will perish and I would like to do something about it.
MEN: Let's talk with you first - if you are 50 years of age and don't have a plan to keep yourself tested and free from having a nasty surprise land upon you, the time is right now for you to visit your GP and arrange for a testing program to be established. You owe it to yourself, your family, and your work - don't be one of the 3500 to suddenly find themselves with the "bug". get on the front foot and start developing a simple plan with your GP, you will be so pleased you made that step forward. I have attached a notice for a public meeting on Wednesday, 26th May (next week) to be held in "The Woolshed" at Te Awa Lifecare Village, 1866 Cambridge Road, Cambridge @ 7.00pm.
LADIES: if your partner doesn't have a plan in place to fight prostate cancer should the "bug" arrive, right now is the time for you to rope him in and come with you to an evening with Dr. Shane Reti next week. Details are set out in a flyer attached to this letter. Don't delay as prostate cancer is the enemy of the male species and our nation cannot afford to lose 13 good men every week of the year when the chances of survival are greatly enhanced by agreeing a plan of monitoring your partner's health. Read the fact sheet I have attached to this noticeboard and if you have any queries please give me a call - 027 293 9632. The "bug" visited me, but I had a plan and today I am a survivor of a grade 4 cancer and I am committed to helping as many males as I can.
LADIES & GENTS: Don't delay, come to this meeting next week and learn how to be a survivor - with a simple plan in place your chances of a normal life are greatly enhanced. Give me a call or I will see you at "The Woolshed" out at 1866 Cambridge Road next Wednesday. Kind regards and best wishes from Doug Lineham, Fairburn Place, Cambridge. 07 823 2506 or 027 293 9632.

Poll: Should all neighbours have to contribute to improvements?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

An Auckland court has ruled a woman doesn’t have to contribute towards the cost of fixing a driveway she shares with 10 neighbours.

When thinking about fences, driveways or tree felling, for example, do you think all neighbours should have to pay if the improvements directly benefit them?
