Poll: Do you know anyone affected by the Kinleith job cuts and reviews?

Libby Totton Reporter from Waikato Times

“It’s hard to describe how I feel, numbness mostly, it’s all still an unknown,” says Kirby Chitty, a qualified boiler and turbine operator at Kinleith Mill.

Between them, Chitty and her fiancé have spent 30 years at the mill but what happens in the next four months will determine their futures in the South Waikato.

Do you know anyone affected by the Kinleith job cuts and reviews? Tell us about it in the comments (adding NFP if you don't want your words used in print).

Poll: Should the government levy industries that contribute to financial hardship?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

So we want to hear what you think:
Should the government ask these industries to contribute?
