Sadly, no one offshore wants to buy Kiwis’ used plastics. This means that while we will be collecting plastics 1-7, we’ll now only be recycling plastics 1, 2 and 5.
We’re asking you all to join the movement and try and avoid purchasing products with plastics 3, 4, 6 and 7. More information on this can be found in the link below ⤵️
‘Devastated’ Lake Taupō Aqua Park owners first casualty of gold clams
The owners of a once popular water park are “absolutely devastated” after becoming the first casualty of freshwater gold clams in the Waikato region.
Lake Taupō Aqua Park will permanently close as a way to ensure the elimination of freshwater clams after being temporarily shuttered in March when Biosecurity New Zealand discovered the presence of the invasive species in the lagoon.
