A message from Queen Elizabeth II to Hamiltonians

When Vanessa Williams, CEO of Hamilton Central Business Association first told me about this year’s CBD Awards being held at the Hamilton Hotel, where Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip stayed in 1953, my first response was, “Let’s try and get a personal message from the Queen!”

I thought it would be a long shot, but through teamwork and perseverance, Vanessa received this letter on the day of the event (3rd October 2018).

A child has found a house. The market feels like it’s moving. There’s pressure to act quickly. And before anyone has really had time to think it through, parents are being asked to step in with cash, guarantees, or equity from their own home.
