Morning all,
Waikato's beleaguered SPCA branch is no longer under local control.
After closing in December, head office has stepped in and limited services are set to resume on Tuesday, January 31.
Let's hope they're up and running at full capacity again soon.

This one is pretty simple. You're a Neighbourly member so connecting with your community is obviously pretty important to you. So this tip is more of a challenge; this year (or this weekend!) make it your mission to meet someone new living near you.

Here's a few things you can do to get you started:
- use the Neighbours Directory to find neighbours on your street.
- introduce yourself on Neighbourly to those living in your neighbourhood. Just a few words about yourself and what brought you here.
- Give something away or sell something! A Neighbourly exchange gives you a chance to meet someone new.
- just head out the door and knock on someone else's!

Darron took me out for lunch to-day at Te Awa and on the way there I stopped in at the ladies room. We had done a bit of shopping beforehand and I put the bag on the hook behind the door in the cubicle. Went on to have lunch then said when we had eaten "where is the shopping" Darron? He replied "you had it". Panic!!!! Went back to the cubicle, no parcel. (I had bought a present to send over to Mum in Australia for her 92nd birthday in Feb). So we went to the information desk and yes it had been handed in by an honest lady. If by any chance that lady is reading this please accept a big thank you from me.

A new and exciting opportunity has come to Flagstaff. The Art Garage, your destination for creativity, in Cashmere Place, is seeking expressions of interest in attending art classes. This is your opportunity to explore your creativity in a fun and collegial environment. To help in establishing the timetable we would like your input into:
which medium you prefer ( oil, watercolour, acrylic, mixed media/collage); and
whether you prefer morning (9.30am to 12.30pm) or afternoon classes (12 noon to 3pm).
You will be taught by a qualified tutor/ working artist in classes of no more than 10 adults.
We are considering that the first class will be mornings on Wednesdays for a 6 week period starting 8 Feb but this is open to your suggestions.
No children's classes are proposed at this stage.
WE WANT YOU! WHEN CAN YOU COME?
We look forward to your responses.
