My wife's family are in direct path of Typhoons every season in The Philippines at the Cagayan Valley area etc in the northern part of the country. This is the worst storm they have had in 20 years doing a lot more damage and my partner won't be in direct contact with them for a month or so until the power lines get fixed. Now understand they are just one family where millions in a country of 104 million people are all suffering so badly. Lets put our thoughts to their well being so the mental energy can at least help them a bit.

At a cafe last week the kids were commenting on the amount of Christmas decorations up on the walls. Not sure if they were recent additions or left over from previous years we asked the server who enthusiastically exclaimed "only 15 Sundays until Christmas!"
Eeek! I feel like I've barely recovered from the last one.
So, here's the penultimate Te Kowhai News issue before the magic of Christmas is upon us:
* Interview with the body beautiful baby mamma Jo Williams.
* School PTA Quiz Night photos: the brains, the brides, the burglars.
* Local parent Judy Gallagher gets her teeth into the disappearance of our kids' dental service.
* Local Louise Hopkins with a crowd-pleasing recipe from her family to yours.
* Local dog whisperer Heather Westerby-Jones with a new dog column.
* Loads of discussion opportunities with Council and Parliament.
* And local Graham McBride with another evocative trip to the history of our area.
For a small community there certainly is a heck of a lot going on!
