Poll: Have you ever played pickleball?

Libby Reporter from Waikato Local

There aren’t any pickles in pickleball - you don’t get a pickle, you won’t get into a pickle, and you probably won’t even see a pickle unless you bring your own.

But the sport with the novelty name is gaining popularity to such an extent that a Hamilton family has decided to set up the country’s first dedicated facility in Te Rapa.

Have you ever played pickleball? Tell us your reasons in the comments (adding NFP if you don't want your words used in print).

The city's new mayor is setting out his plan

Libby Totton Reporter from Waikato Times

Hamilton City Council is pledging to cut costs and avoid “gold plating” infrastructure as part of a new strategy to limit rates increases, but Mayor Tim Macindoe says central government support may be needed to meet a new national rates cap.

Macindoe said Wellington needed to be “a little more nuanced” and take population growth into account.
