Poll: Do you think more jobs being available will help?

Libby Totton Reporter from Waikato Times

Streeties have been defecating in public, throwing fire crackers and pulling up floorboards hunting for cigarette butts, but a local politician says them getting a job is the answer.

Hamilton East MP Ryan Hamilton was among Hamilton leaders the Waikato Times spoke to in the aftermath of revelations of increasing feral behaviour in the city’s CBD, and he said with lower inflation and economic indicators starting to turn the corner, businesses would need staff.

Poll: Are Kiwis allergic to “exuberance”? 🥝

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

In The Post’s opinion piece on the developments set to open across Aotearoa in 2026, John Coop suggests that, as a nation, we’re “allergic to exuberance.”

We want to know: Are we really allergic to showing our excitement?

Is it time to lean into a more optimistic view of the place we call home? As big projects take shape and new opportunities emerge, perhaps it’s worth asking whether a little more confidence (and enthusiasm!) could do us some good.

Have you been to Hamilton Gardens lately?

Libby Totton Reporter from Waikato Times

Hamilton will soon offer a portal to a medieval ‘hospital’, without the stress of the bubonic plague.

The Medieval Gardens will open next year at Hamilton Gardens, with much of the work already done.
