Bus strike - make sure you are up-to-date throughout the day
Hamilton bus services will be disrupted today due to industrial action by bus drivers.
All regional services – 20 Cambridge, 21 Northern Connector, 22 Morrinsville/Paeroa, 23 Raglan and 24 Te Awamutu – will run as normal. The Orbiter will also run as normal. The 29 Hamilton Gardens service will not operate.
All other Hamilton bus services will operate on limited timetables with reduced frequency. For details, visit the Busit website (busit.co.nz/service-updates/strike-action) or call 0800 205 305.
Waikato Regional Council, which is responsible for managing bus service contracts in the Waikato region, said it was working closely with Go Bus to minimise the inconvenience to passengers as much as possible, but urged people to check for updates before they travelled.
“It’s possible we’ll have to make changes throughout the day tomorrow. If that happens we’ll post updates to our website. We’ll also have staff at key stops tomorrow morning, and our call centre will be able to give people the latest information,” said public transport manager Andrew Wilson. Read more here.
