Homecoming with a twist: Award-winning chef brings destination dining to Taumarunui
Six seats. That’s all it takes for one of New Zealand’s most celebrated chefs to make his grand return home.
After closing the doors of Napier’s acclaimed Pacifica, a restaurant that earned three Cuisine hats and was twice crowned New Zealand’s Best Regional Restaurant, chef Jeremy Rameka and his partner - sommelier Natalie Bulman - are trading their seaside stage for something far smaller and far more personal.
Their new venture, Ni, will seat just six diners at a time in a tiny railway cottage in the heart of Kākahi, near Taumarunui.

Whether it’s a courgette takeover or a feijoa frenzy, don’t let those garden gems go to waste!
Our suggestion to you: Did you know you can grate and freeze excess courgettes to use in chocolate cake later? It sounds a bit dodgy, but it makes the cake incredibly moist ... and hey, it counts as a serving of veg, right? 🍫
