A Waikato man says dust from a massive chicken farm near his home has left him with a permanent lung disease, and his neighbours say they’re suffering too.
David Gibney told a resource consent hearing on Tuesday that he had “healthy lungs” before the Mainland Poultry farm was built.

A wallaby spotted in Hamilton was probably kept as a pet, the regional council says - and that’s “simply irresponsible”.
The dama wallaby, which had an immature joey in its pouch, was spotted in Frankton on March 3, reported and killed, Waikato Regional Council says.
