Free Quiz Night
There is a free quiz night at the Hillcrest Tavern every Thursday night. It starts at around 7.30pm and goes for a couple of hours. It has questions on sport, movies, celebrity faces, old cars, name the town in NZ, music medleys, all sorts of random trivia. Teams can be of any size and it is a fun way to get together, socialise and be entertained. Questions on the images - who's faces? who's logo, what make of car? where in NZ?

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙
One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

Wild weather in the Waikato

Starting gun sounds for housing on Te Rapa Racecourse land with re-zoning
Hamilton City councillors have signed off on a plan change that could see Te Rapa Racecourse swap stables for townhouses.
The deputy mayor says this paves the way for “basically creating a new suburb within the city”.
