Council to spend 22k

Mano Neighbourly Lead from Silverdale

Hamilton City Council is to increase our rates by 8.9%, against the wishes of ratepayers, but the City Council CEO who is leaving the Council soon is to spend $22k on motivational two speakers, Montana food and Claudelands venue on 29th for all Council staff. Mayor elected by ratepayers votes had said she learnt of the meeting only on 21st. Unfortunately, Mayor and Councillors elected by ratepayers votes are not invited. It looks like our elected representatives have no say and do not know what is going on in Council.

Poll: Do you think NZ should ban social media for youth?

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

The Australian Prime Minister has expressed plans to ban social media use for children.

This would make it illegal for under 16-year-olds to have accounts on platforms including TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and X.
Social media platforms would be tasked with ensuring children have no access (under-age children and their parents wouldn’t be penalised for breaching the age limit)
.
Do you think NZ should follow suit? Vote in our poll and share your thoughts below.
