Poll: Yes or no to the robots?

Libby Totton Reporter from Waikato Times

Imagine walking through Hamilton’s Garden Place and being followed by a futuristic - and slightly Dalek-like - robot the size of a dining table, rolling beside you, recording everything you do, and ready to speak up if it spots trouble.

It might sound like a sci-fi movie, but Hamilton City Councillor Ewan Wilson says it’s worth exploring as the city grapples with increasing drug use and antisocial behaviour in the CBD. “It’s an option,” he says. “Maybe it’s a discussion that we should have.”

What do you reckon? Yes or no to the robots? Tell us your reasons in the comments (adding NFP if you don't want your words used in print).

Some Choice News!

Kia pai from Sharing the Good Stuff

Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.

Thinking about planting something to invite more butterflies, bees, and birds into your garden?

Thanks for your mahi, Alan! We hope this brings a smile!
