An industry steering group is turning the tide in the battle against regiments of road cones which forced two Waikato RSAs to cancel their street parades this Anzac Day.
The New Zealand Transport Agency (NZTA) has also clarified its position on temporary traffic management (TTM) issues which saw the Waihī and Paeroa RSAs have to “break with tradition” by marching on footpaths, instead of down their towns’ main streets.

Hamilton City Council is pledging to cut costs and avoid “gold plating” infrastructure as part of a new strategy to limit rates increases, but Mayor Tim Macindoe says central government support may be needed to meet a new national rates cap.
