Poll: Free parking in the CBD will cost you

Matt Bowen Reporter from Waikato Times

Hi Neighbours,

Though it's touted as free parking, a proposal for central Hamilton will still see residents pay - just not at the meter.

Councillor Geoff Taylor, who campaigned on the issue, said a targeted rate of $150 to $200 a year for central city properties and $26 a year for general ratepayers would cover the $1.4m shortfall.

What's your take on the proposal?

From rugged campsite to 7.5ha resort

Libby Totton Reporter from Waikato Times

Grant Kilby has always loved camping. His mum was director of health at the YMCA, and he would attend YMCA camps in the school holidays. “I think it was mandatory that I was there,” he jokes.

He went on camping holidays with his parents, and later, took his own kids.
“Camping’s been in my blood.”
