He’s attended many serious motorcycle crashes and learned first-hand the factors that cause and contribute to them.
Sadly, in the majority of cases, there were things the rider could have done to prevent the crash, “and that breaks my heart”, says Graeme. His solution? “Do some training”. It just might save your life.

If you look around the call centers and similar large companies with lots of people sitting at their desks pushing keyboards all day while answering a few phone calls you will realise a lot of them will have an unhealthy mid-life crisis to worry about. The lack of exercise of normal work today has disappeared and along with processed foods it is leading to a lot of new disease problems which these people and others don't realise is going to hit them bad. When you consider then these same younger generation then go home and play games on computers and consoles this leads to a very troubled lifestyle and it won't improve until they get out and change to an active job instead. An easy life isn't a healthy life and even if you can get wealthy it is no guarantee of a good life. I know a few people not even reached retirement that have got cancer and left their work to go home and enjoy what life they have left which isn't much then. Don't sit about as life is too short to waste it.

ASB is aware of a current SMS ('smishing') scam where people have been sent a text message pretending to be from the bank. The 'smishing' SMS contains a link that once clicked prompts the person to provide personal information and a wide range of details such as login details and their Netcode.
ASB wants to remind everyone that legitimate messages from any bank would never ask customers to supply personal information, login details or second-factor identification.
The ASB Contact Centre is available on 0800 803 804 if a customer is concerned about any suspicious messages they receive. Read more here

The first was on 'Weighty Issue for Our Kids' where from a previous study kids up to 14 of 2010 were compared with kids the same ages in 2017 and found the 2017 kids are 1.8kg heavier meaning lots more obesity. If you worry about your child and their future find this article and read it as Obesity is a modern disease going to cause massive problems of destroyed joints and bodily dis-function needing more surgery than ever before.
The second article was 'Garden Birds' Give Clues to Our Environment'. This is a survey available to take part in again where people take the time to monitor the birds they see in their own back yard. This information will show the continuing changing nature of birds in our society giving a better idea of how our environment affects them and also us. Who would think the blackbird, thrush and wax-eye would all be disappearing in our generation but this looks likely so needs our help.

Does it make sense to buy teenagers bigger beds so they have more room to grow? Or, like writer and mum Jayne D'Arcy, do you think a double could equal trouble later on?

He says people should be able to make their own holiday arrangements, rather than the Government telling us when to take the day off.
We want to know your thoughts. Should people be able to make their own holiday arrangements? Or should we leave our holidays as is?

Whether you live in an apartment or on a rural property, you have neighbours - and knowing your neighbours matters. Connecting with the people who live around you creates a happier, safer and more friendlier neighbourhood - even if it's just greeting them by name over the fence or popping in for an occasional cuppa. That's what Neighbourly is all about after all. Neighbourly aims to restore the neighbourhoods of old, where neighbours knew each other well enough to pop next door to borrow a cup of sugar or help search for a lost pet.
At the same time, we want to celebrate all the good neighbours who are making an extra effort to support others in communities across the Waikato. These are the ones who organise neighbourhood BBQs, help stack their neighbour's firewood or always put their hand up to babysit.
So if you have a have a neighbour that fits the bill, and needs a bit of thanking, let us know. Nominations can be emailed to julie.kaio@stuff.co.nz
