The famous sign on the gate to Bilbo Baggins’ house states emphatically “No admittance - except on party business”.

Bilbo might not have been there to partake himself, but a glorious party, complete with star-studded guest list, was held in Hobbiton on Tuesday night. The occasion was the release of The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim.

Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
