Do you think Nawton's FIFO supermarket should be able to sell alcohol?
A liquor licence that would help sustain new supermarket FIFO after it threw a lifeline to a hard scrabble Hamilton suburb is being blocked by city leaders.
Plans to sell beer and wine at Nawton’s brand new Fresh In Fresh Out (FIFO) supermarket have hit speed bumps with two city councillors among those raising concerns over the community’s vulnerability to alcohol harm.

Do you volunteer or know someone who does?
It's NZ Volunteer Week (16-22 June) and we know there are real good sorts in your community.
Often these kind acts and regular volunteering efforts go unnoticed but let's put a stop to that.
Let us know below who is making a difference in your neighbourhood so we can all appreciate them for the great work that they do!

Can you imagine feeding 125 people every Friday?
Home-made devilled sausages and spaghetti bolognese was a delightful sight for Michelle Feehan who’s only had cereal all week.
The toasty meal was one of the 125 prepared by Shells Duncan and Desiree Beazley during their weekly routine of feeding the hungry in Hamilton.

Did you watch Saturday's game?
Rookie hooker Millennium (Mills) Sanerivi will wait on tenterhooks, with the 24-year-old Aucklander on the verge of being thrust into a dramatic Super Rugby Pacific debut with the banged-up Chiefs in Saturday night’s final against the Blues at Eden Park.
Clayton McMillan’s side progressed to a second successive decider with a 30-19 semifinal victory over the Hurricanes in Wellington on Saturday evening, but their gutsy win over the top seeds has come at plenty of cost, with a bulging casualty ward to assess after arriving back in Hamilton.
