Council brings in extra security guards
Security guards are sitting in on some Hamilton City Council meetings as city leaders due to what some say is an increasing level of threats.
Mayor Paula Southgate said the tensions of the past few years have been the worst in her 22 years in politics.
However, councillor Geoff Taylor found the response “a bit over the top”.
