There has been “chaos” in some Kmart stores across New Zealand as asbestos-wary shoppers return play sand, forcing the retail giant to close at least one store.
In Hamilton the Te Rapa store was evacuated and put into “quarantine” on Thursday and closed on Friday after sand was reportedly found in the break room.

Two people were trying to speak to the occupants of a dark-coloured Ford Falcon on Saturday night that was doing noisy burnouts in the semi-rural area.
