HCC want to remove trees in Howell Ave that were agreed to be retained!

Alison from Riverlea

Roadworks are underway for the Te Awa cycleway down the North end of Howell Ave right now. The HCC, Te Awa cycle Trust and residents directly affected all agreed that the 4 trees along the section between 97 Howell and down are to be retained.
( Please see the attached HCC plan given to the residents dated 2 September 2021 saying the trees are being retained.)
Why have the HCC reverted back to their original plan to remove the trees now that construction is happening and not honouring the agreed upon plan.
Please HCC honour your published plan!!
