I have purchased another LCD panel from Germany , it has 16 or 18 connectors across the bottom of the ribbon ( maybe 40mm across in total ) that need soldering . I've taken the speedo out ( I bought the 'correct' hooks ) and even have a basic soldering iron ( around $20 at Jaycar from memory -- so not temperature adjustable or anything ) but I don't want to wreck the speedo .
I understand Gallaghers do fine soldering , but presumably only their own components , and TV's and the like seem throw-away these days -- is there anyone with the skills who is keen to try -- a business or someone at home .
