2023 CBD Award Winners!
The annual CBD Awards evening were held 1st November at Roose Common Park.
The Waikato River, Hamilton’s best natural resource, provided the backdrop for the evening, Royal Laboratorie created a splash of glamour with a Hampton pitched roof marquee on the riverbank with decor, furniture and lighting added to the elegance of the venue. SBI Productions were our light and sound technicians and Moving Media captured the evening with beautiful photography.
The CBD Awards are sponsored by Spark for Business and delivered by the Hamilton Central Business Association (HCBA).

Poll: Should all neighbours have to contribute to improvements?
An Auckland court has ruled a woman doesn’t have to contribute towards the cost of fixing a driveway she shares with 10 neighbours.
When thinking about fences, driveways or tree felling, for example, do you think all neighbours should have to pay if the improvements directly benefit them?

Buying local
While I hesitate to bring up the state of the world at the moment I am one of the ones who have actively divested from foreign interests as a result
E.g. boycotting Starbucks
It's been an interesting experience simply googling who owns what's supposed New Zealand brands
For example Bluebird New Zealand is actually owned by Pepsico which is American
I'm happy to say I have found Heartland chips as a replacement for my snacks but I'm also starting to review the cosmetics, the toothpaste, the soap, as well as almost every other food product in my cupboard as I do not wish to have my money going towards unsavory activities by foreign businesses
If anyone is able to advise of truly New Zealand owned products that are available for purchase locally I would greatly appreciate it
