Xray's were taken as with all dentals, to see if there were any underlying issues that we are unable to see during a pre dental and a cavity check was completed. He was given an all clear in these area’s so his scale and polish was done.🙂
Ziggy recovered well and his Mum reports his breath is a lot fresher! Ziggy's Mum purchased a Virbac Dental Kit to take home, this kit includes a doggy toothbrush and poultry flavoured toothpaste! 😋
Getting your canine or feline used to having their 'canine's' brushed takes a bit of time, but doing them three times a week as part of his/her routine can have so many benefits.
Brushing your pets teeth can help prevent the following :
🦷Bad Breath
Stinky breath can be a symptom of dental, lung or gastrointestinal issues. Regular mouth and breath check-ups should be part of taking care of your pets overall health. Gum disease also known as Periodontal disease is an inflammation of the gums. It is one of the most common diseases pets suffer from today and can lead onto gingivitis. The best way to prevent this is by regularly brushing your pets teeth.
🦷Tooth Decay
Get your dog or cat used to having their mouth checked and teeth brushed regularly by you. With weekly at home checks you can spot irregularities in your their mouth, from bleeding, lumps, chipped teeth. If you do find something, it's important to get it checked out by one of our vets.
🦷Painful Infections
Your pet can stop eating and drinking if infections occur in their mouth. There may be redness or swelling on the gums and they will have a disinterest in playing, lethargic, drooling and have bad breath to name a few. These symptoms can be a sign of other issue's so it is always important to get your pet checked by a vet.
🦷Tartar Build Up
Tartar doesn’t take long to form and it can cause immediate damage to your pets teeth and gumline. Its starts off as plaque and combines with the salts in your their saliva, hardens and becomes tartar. Tartar can lead to tooth root decay and tooth loss.
❤️The moral of the story....... weekly home checking of your pets mouth, teeth brushing, dental chews, a good quality diet, regular dental checks with your veterinarian and then dentals procedures when necessary, will lead to a happy & healthy pets mouth!

It’s a moment of horror – moving a piece of furniture and realizing what it’s done to the carpet. In fact, some people even refuse to move their furniture around because they don’t know how to get rid of the carpet dents that the heavy pieces have left. Luckily, there is a fix!
The only … View moreIt’s a moment of horror – moving a piece of furniture and realizing what it’s done to the carpet. In fact, some people even refuse to move their furniture around because they don’t know how to get rid of the carpet dents that the heavy pieces have left. Luckily, there is a fix!
The only things you’ll need are ice cubes, and a vacuum or hairbrush.
1. Place an ice cube on the dent. If the dent is large or long, use extra ice cubes as needed
2. Allow the ice cubes to melt.
3. Once the ice cubes have melted, the carpet will fluff back up.
4. After the area has dried, vacuum over the dents or gently use a hairbrush to further fluff the carpet if needed.
Additional Tips:
Moving furniture a few inches at regular intervals can help prevent carpet dents from becoming severe. Every couple months, scoot the couch or other heavy items a couple inches to one side and fluff up the dents. If this is done, the dent can often be fluffed simply with your fingers; no water necessary.
Scraping a coin over the dent can also work to fluff it up if your fingers alone aren’t getting the pile back up.
Another method of fluffing the carpet is to use a spray mister to slightly wet the dent, then use a hair dryer on warm or cool air (holding it several inches away from the carpet) to dry the area while gently fluffing up the pile with your fingers or a hairbrush.
Another method of fluffing the carpet is to use steam. Hold a clothing or upholstery steamer several inches above the carpet and quickly blast the dent with steam. Let the dent cool, then use your fingers or a hairbrush to fluff it up. However, most carpets are nylon, and nylon can melt easily, so it’s best to test the steam on a small hidden area first, such as in the corner of a closet, to see how the carpet fibres react to the heat. Again, be sure to hold the steamer several inches away from the carpet when applying the steam.

❤️Idea's To Help Manage Your Cats Stress/Anxiety:
🐈If using a litter tray, it should be cleaned out regularly. Make sure it is placed in a quiet area.
🐈⬛Keep their food and water away from their litter trays. Also some cats don't like their food and water bowls beside each other, so try keeping them apart.
🐈If introducing new pets, this should be done slowly and with as little change to your cats routine as possible.
🐈⬛Make sure your cat has hiding places or escape routes when guests are visiting.
🐈Know whether your cats likes to be held, stroked and for how long. Don't restrain your pet just because you want to stroke them.
🐈⬛Have your kitten/cat get used to their pet carrier and coming to the vets. Make the cat carrier familiar and a nice place to be. Pop a toy or a treat inside to encourage them to go in.
❤️Idea's To Help Manage Your Dogs Stress/Anxiety:
🐕🦺Exercise is a great way to relieve stress, it helps to get rid of excess energy that can make stress worse. A bored and frustrated dog is much more likely to suffer from behavioural problems.
🐕If left at home alone for periods of time, for example while you are at work, provide toys that need solving or effort for example slow release treat toys.
🐕🦺For dogs with noise phobias and/or excessive barking, try safely, comfortably and happily confining the dog so it is happy and content. A safe place like your laundry, garage, or bedroom can be a suitable den.
🐕Simple things like calming music may work for a dog left alone who is suffering from separation anxiety (a simple online search will give you access to specially created “soothing dog music” collections).
