Former Hamilton mayor Margaret Evans has blasted the state of the city centre as “appalling”, urging the council to start with a basic clean-up.
Speaking at the inaugural meeting of Hamilton City Council’s Central City Revitalisation sub-committee on Tuesday, Evans said the CBD was suffering from “grubby shop-fronts” and general neglect.
