Poll: Do you think it's time for a new system?
The Government will move to replace the National Certificate of Educational Achievement, NCEA, with new qualifications, Education Minister Erica Stanford announced in Auckland on Monday morning.
The new system - which will go out for feedback - would replace NCEAโs complex system of credits with scores from 0-100 and a reversion to grade scales such as A through E.

The Environmental Protection Authority announced this week that a proposed mine in Central Otago (near Cromwell) is about to enter its fast-track assessment process. A final decision could come within six months, and if itโs approved, construction might start as early as mid-2026.

Roadworks on SH1 between Hampton Downs and Rangiriri
