It's never too late to start learning Portuguese! Our Term 3 Portuguese 101 classes(along with all of our other language programmes) began last week but you can catch up at anytime by watching the video recordings. Our Introductory Portuguese course meets Wednesdays from 6:30-8:00pm (New Zealand time) and is available in-person, live-streamed via Zoom to anywhere in the world with a good internet connection, or via the weekly video recordings of each live session. All three Hamilton MPs appear to be united behind the retention of the Te Huia passenger rail service between Hamilton and Auckland, as well as potentially expanding it to Tauranga.

But whether Hamilton East’s Ryan Hamilton, Hamilton West’s Tama Potaka and soon-to-be Labour list MP Georgie Dansey have the combined power to shunt transport minister Chris Bishop and Prime Minister Christopher Luxon onto their line of thinking remains to be seen.

Hospo owners give BNZ Theatre mixed reviews

After a busy opening week for BNZ Theatre, local restaurateurs have mixed feelings about its impact on diner numbers.

A first test for hospitality owners was over the weekend when Teeks and Sir Dave Dobbyn packed out the theatre. While some owners are feeling optimistic for the future, others believe the theatre has failed to deliver the promised crowds, albeit it is a quiet time of year.
