Can you Help?
We are a group of ladies who make blankets, jumpers, hats, scarves and gloves for needy people in Moldova, Romania and the Ukraine. The need is very urgent as conditions there are extreme. We knit, crochet and sew all year round so are in constant need of fresh supplies. If you can help with wool (or acrylic) or material scraps suitable for quilting, we would love to have them. Odd balls and part balls of wool or acrylic are fine – we an use them for stripes etc. Please ring me on 021-057-0371 and I will arrange to pick up anything you can donate to our cause. Many thanks. Poll: Should we ditch daylight saving? 🕰️
First introduced in New Zealand in 1927 with the passing of the Summer Time Act, it's what we know as 'Daylight Saving' and this year it ends on the first Sunday in April.
While we do get to sleep in this time around, some people would like to scrap the clock tinkering for good.
And why? Some evidence suggests the time changes are bad for our health as they mess with sleep patterns leading to short-term fatigue and affecting mood. Meanwhile the hour change is frustrating for farmers and a nightmare for getting the littlies to sleep. But what's your take?
