Can you Help?
We are a group of ladies who make blankets, jumpers, hats, scarves and gloves for needy people in Moldova, Romania and the Ukraine. The need is very urgent as conditions there are extreme. We knit, crochet and sew all year round so are in constant need of fresh supplies. If you can help with wool (or acrylic) or material scraps suitable for quilting, we would love to have them. Odd balls and part balls of wool or acrylic are fine – we an use them for stripes etc. Please ring me on 021-057-0371 and I will arrange to pick up anything you can donate to our cause. Many thanks. Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
