Crafer will the headline act at the second annual Mike Pero MotoFest extravaganza at Hampton Downs over the weekend of March 2-3.
The jam-packed weekend will be a unique Kiwi festival of motorcycling, with speed, power, poise, balance, daring and high-octane expression by the bucket-load.
MotoFest will run with the same format that was introduced last time around and will again include the popular Kawasaki Trail Ride, Motul Trials Challenge, Star Insurance Bike Show, Alpine Stars Dinner event, Shoei Classic, as well as the national championship superbike racing.
For the first time, ACC’s Shiny Side Up Bike Fest will also be running in conjunction with MotoFest.

Something interesting I saw the other day . Busit have now ( from 1 Feb 2019 ) extended the Northern Connection bus service ( it goes to Huntly ) to Te Kauwhata and Pukekohe .
It leaves Hamilton at 9.10am , departs Huntly at 10.05 , Te Kauwhata 10.30 , Meremere 10.46 , Mercer 10.53 , Pokeno … View moreSomething interesting I saw the other day . It leaves Hamilton at 9.10am , departs Huntly at 10.05 , Te Kauwhata 10.30 , Meremere 10.46 , Mercer 10.53 , Pokeno 10.58 , Tuakau 11.10 and Pukekohe 11.25am . This is every day , Monday to Friday .
The return trip leaves Pukekohe at 2.30pm , Huntly 3.50 , gets to the Transport centre 4.40pm .
Cost for the 'full' trip is $10.20 each way if you have a Busit card ; $15.20 one off cash traveller . Students and over 65 etc are cheaper .
I find this interesting .
At some stage in the next 2 or 3 years , there is supposed to be a commuter train to Pukekohe . The bus service , by comparison , someone decided there is a need , so it happened .
The train will be over $30 each way , each day . The bus is around $10 . THIS bus service ( to Pukekohe ) won't suit commuters , but it shows what can easily be done .
Does it take 2 or 3 years , numerous meetings , numerous studies , numerous consultants , for Bus It to bring in this service ?
Does it take LTNZ , Government , Ham City Council and Waikato Council money to get this service operating ?
Does it take at least $78 million to get this service operating ?
Does it take new car parks and platforms to get this operating ?
Does it take $20 million to refurbish buses to get this system operating ?
Does this service operate on tracks , which need $100's of millions a year of Government money just to keep operating , or does it pay RUC and petrol taxes and fees to operate on roads that are already built , and which are more than self-funding ?
Does this 300horsepower diesel bus produce more or less harmful emissions to take 10 or 40 passengers , compared to what a 3000 horsepower diesel locomotive produces ?
It sort of makes all the crap around running a commuter train costing AT LEAST $78 million , and ongoing costs , and ongoing meetings , and ongoing time frames , all seem incredibly idiotic , doesn't it ?
Yes , I know , I go on about this , but really -- is there no-one in Government , HCC , WDC or LTNZ with the logic to go -- Woooo , this is a really stupid use of taxpayers and ratepayers money ? Presumably not .

Over the last few months , I have taken a lot more interest in the Trains , sparked by the crazy proposal to spend at least $78 million to take 30-40 commuters a day to Papakura and back . It makes no sense , no matter how you try and justify it .
A couple of people have said 'Look at how … View moreOver the last few months , I have taken a lot more interest in the Trains , sparked by the crazy proposal to spend at least $78 million to take 30-40 commuters a day to Papakura and back . It makes no sense , no matter how you try and justify it .
A couple of people have said 'Look at how Auckland has turned the trains around' , and how many passengers they get . So I thought I'd have a look at Auckland Transport's latest reports , and it's amazing what you can learn , or what can be hidden .
Auckland Transport runs the buses , the trains , bike lanes , carparking , all sorts of transport options . Actually , it looks like they contract most of those out . So their published accounts are very hard to pinpoint .
But here's an overview --
$467.5 million 'improving' public transport -- whatever the hell that means ?
$120.8 million improving roading .
$20 million improving parking .
Their 'operating funding' was $536.072 million -- that is ticket sales for buses , trains , parking meters and carparks .
Their expenditure was $1.892 BILLION !
The shortfall came from Auckland Council ( rates ) $480.485million and NZTA ( $205.231 million ) and finance revenue $617.42million .
Yes -- they spent 3 times as much as users paid . And yes , they borrowed nearly $620 million ! We are talking Auckland Transport -- a part of the Auckland Council . I wonder how much the entire council borrowed ?
I'm no great financial mastermind , but isn't this a bit like running a trucking company , charging out $600 , but it costs you $1800 to chrge that $600 , so you borrow some , and get some off your Uncle ?
Anyway , that is Auckland's concerns , but the point is -- their so-called model of how transport should be run , pointed out by a couple of Neighbourly people , is decided stuffed . You cannot run a business , or a transport network , if it costs you $3 for every $1 you get in -- that is stupid ! You can do a 'promotion' for a couple of weeks to get people interested , but there is absolutely no point using that as your business case . And even crazier -- why borrow to pay for these loses ?
So lets hope that with an upcoming election , here in Hamilton we get some people with a few business skills . Can the commuter train . Look at the buses , see which lose money , see if they can be turned around or changed , and balance that with a social need . I doubt if many people would begrudge a bus service ( or a train service -- although I doubt any will work around the Waikato ) losing a few dollars if it is being used , but if it costs 3 times what it earns ( like Auckland ) , or 8 times what it earns ( like the Commuter train ) , then don't even trial it .
