EarthDiverse Hebrew language courses via Zoom beginning 4 August

EarthDiverse is pleased to announce the relaunch of its Introductory Hebrew 101 classes for beginners with no knowledge of Hebrew or the Hebrew script. During our Introductory Hebrew course we focus on learning the Hebrew (עִבְרִית) script, while focusing on basic conversation, grammar, vocabulary, reading and writing.

This eight-week live-streamed interactive course is available via Zoom at the following times:
• Honolulu, Hawai'i: begins Wed 3 Aug 2022, 8:00-9:30pm
• US Pacific: begins Wed 3 Aug 2022, 11:00pm-12:30am
• London, UK: begins Thu 4 Aug 2022, 7:00-9:30am
• Paris, France: begins Thu 4 Aug 2022, 8:00-9:30am
• New Delhi, India: begins Thu 4 Aug 2022 11:30am-1:00pm
• Bangkok, Thailand: begins Thu 4 Aug 2022 1:00-2:30pm
• Singapore: begins Thu 4 Aug 2022 2:00-3:30pm
• Sydney, Australia: begins Thu 4 Aug 2022, 4:00-5:30pm
• New Zealand: begins Thu 4 Aug 2022, 6:00-7:30pm

Recorded sessions of the live streamed courses are also available for those that miss classes or if the timing for the live sessions doesn't work.

As reported in the Post, there’s a $30 million funding gap in financial mentoring. This has led to services closing and mentors stepping in unpaid just to keep helping people in need 🪙💰🪙

One proposed solution? Small levies on industries that profit from financial hardship — like banks, casinos, and similar companies.

Derelict Tokanui Hospital site in line for a clean-up

Derelict Tokanui Hospital buildings will be demolished and contaminated land cleaned up so the site can be offered back to iwi.

The former psychiatric hospital, southeast of Te Awamutu, sits on land taken from Ngāti Maniapoto under the Public Works Act in 1910.
