Painting over polyurethane
Yes it is possible to paint over polyurethane, using the right products and preparation, your brown wooden doors can easily be transformed so that you can apply any paint colour you like (and it wont scratch off! ) Heres an example of a job I did for a family in Fairview downs. Their old brown wardrobe door looks a lot brighter and fresher with a couple of coats of semigloss white.
