Stormwater flooding risk looms for up to 1400 Taupō homes
Up to 1400 homes across Taupō District could be significantly affected by stormwater flooding during major rain events, according to a climate change risk review.
The council-commissioned review also warns existing stormwater infrastructure is not designed to cope with increasingly intense rainfall events, and would be overwhelmed regardless of improvements.
