Homegrown organisers are signalling an at least 18-year commitment to Hamilton as they prepare to host fans in March 2026.
The Claudelands venue is about 2.5 times the size of the previous venue, Wellington’s waterfront, and keeps stages within walking distance of bars, eateries and hotels, they say.

Widow’s fight for change after husband’s ‘blasé’ care at Waikato Hospital
Nigel Dring had looked forward to retirement, but only got months to enjoy it.
His death in July 2023 - two days after a medical appointment - sparked an investigation at Waikato Hospital and his widow says she’s still shocked at “blasé” treatment in the days before he died.
While Nigel had told one doctor he was “really struggling to breathe”, no-one made them feel like he was in danger, Lynn Dring said.
