Young Fair Fair

Aaron from Chartwell

Hamilton Community Market in collaboration with Young Enterprise Scheme (YES) is excited to bring this opportunity to Hamilton West on Sunday 4th September 2022 from 9am - 1pm at our market. This will be combined with our market, so will be a goodie not to miss.

The Lion Foundation Young Enterprise Scheme (YES) is an experiential programme in which secondary school students set up and run their own business.

Our vision at Young Enterprise is to inspire the next generation of business leaders, disruptors, and changemakers, helping to create a generation of business savvy and financially competent Kiwis. In this authentic learning experience, students develop a whole new set of skills: problem solving, resilience, teamwork, leadership, public speaking, and decision-making.

YES companies complete challenges throughout the year in their quest to become regional champion and compete at nationals in December. There are both regional and national awards, cash prizes and tertiary scholarships up for grabs throughout the year.

The YES Trade Fair is an opportunity for students to sell their product or service and promote their business to the public (they are also competing for the “Best Trade Fair Presence” award!)

If you’re looking for a way to support your community and the next generation of bright, young entrepreneurs – then make sure you come on down to the Hamilton Community Market on September 4th!

The Team from Neighbourly.co.nz

Do you think it's inconsiderate for people to have lengthy phone calls on a bus? Vote in the poll, and add your comments below.

What would you do if it was your job to fix Hamilton's CBD?

Libby Totton Reporter from Waikato Times

More alcohol restrictions, more lighting, busking rule changes and a whole lot of lobbying - these are some ways Hamilton leaders want to sort out the CBD.

Crime and anti-social behaviour in the area has been in the spotlight after recent news of a man defecating in the street near a city pub and another who flipped tables out the back of a bar after being found scrounging cigarette butts and asked to leave.

What would you do if it was your job to fix Hamilton's CBD? Tell us your reasons in the comments (adding NFP if you don't want your words used in print).
