Poll: Do you think the housing market is bouncing back?
Waikato’s housing market has turned a corner and is now well on its way to recovery as new data shows home values on the up and strong long-term returns for homeowners.
While data from QV showed current prices remained below the 2022 peak, home values in Waikato saw a 2.3% increase over the three months ending in December and a 0.4% increase on the previous year.

‘Simply irresponsible’: Wallaby likely kept as pet in Hamilton, regional council says
A wallaby spotted in Hamilton was probably kept as a pet, the regional council says - and that’s “simply irresponsible”.
The dama wallaby, which had an immature joey in its pouch, was spotted in Frankton on March 3, reported and killed, Waikato Regional Council says.
