Hamilton house prices up but ‘rampant boom’ in 2025 unlikely
The median house price in Hamilton climbed 0.5% to hit $742,670 in February, according to the latest CoreLogic Home Value Index.
The median Hamilton price rise was above the national average of 0.3% across February, a rise CoreLogic said was “the clearest sign yet that 2024’s ‘mini downturn’ had come to an end and that 2025 will likely see modest growth”.

A wallaby spotted in Hamilton was probably kept as a pet, the regional council says - and that’s “simply irresponsible”.
The dama wallaby, which had an immature joey in its pouch, was spotted in Frankton on March 3, reported and killed, Waikato Regional Council says.

Drone ‘incident’ during Balloons Over Waikato landing
A pilot taking part in Balloons Over Waikato had an incident with a drone in Hamilton on Tuesday morning.
The incident happened while the balloon was landing at Wake Park, near Aberdeen School in Dinsdale.
