Poll: How are the traffic islands near you?
Work starts this month on a $300,000 “spruce up” to pour concrete over of 17 “difficult to maintain” traffic island sites with lawns or gardens around Hamilton.
The project is said to be primarily aimed at better safety for staff and the public - but the move will also generate annual savings, the city council said.

Whether it’s a courgette takeover or a feijoa frenzy, don’t let those garden gems go to waste!
Our suggestion to you: Did you know you can grate and freeze excess courgettes to use in chocolate cake later? It sounds a bit dodgy, but it makes the cake incredibly moist ... and hey, it counts as a serving of veg, right? 🍫
