When you phone, email or come into our clinic your first port of call are our amazing reception team, who go above and beyond any requests you have, to make yours and your companion pets experience with us the best.

This incredible team are led by Michelle who has worked for Hamilton Small Animal Vet Centre for over 14 years. From liaising between vets and clients to keeping everything running smoothly and efficiently, we can't thank you all enough!

There is also a lot of administration that goes on behind the scenes, from accounts, social media, practice manger to the VRS admin team.

Today is a day to officially thank you, for all you do, your hard work and dedication to Hamilton Small Animal Vets and our wonderful clients!

MEET THE VRS TEAM - Veterinary Referral Services❤️

Most of you may know that located within the Hamilton Small Animal Veterinary Centre building is Veterinary Referral Services (VRS), which receives companion pet referral cases from their primary Veterinarians all over the Waikato. These patients require care that is complex, or requires skills and equipment that is beyond the function of their primary vet.

The team comprises of;

🐕Veterinary Surgeon Dr Ian Millward BVSc (Dist.), Cert. SA Surgery, MMedVet SA Surgery (Dist.)Vet

🐈‍⬛Referral Nurse & Administrator Sarah Wilson DVN, RVN

🐩Vet Referral Administrator Linley Herbert CVN

🐈Vet Referral Nurse Leeann Ruddell DVN, RVN

Changes are on the horizon for the Vet Referral team with work beginning on a newly built clinic attached to the rear of our building. Not only will it mean changes for the VRS team but our Hamilton Small Animal Vets Centre will now expand into the space left behind, creating a more dynamic, up to date and spacious work area. We will keep you posted with pictures and updates, watch this space!!

Free jam session at museum next Sat May 22, 2pm

PAUL TRENWITH, banjo player from HAMILTON COUNTY BLUEGRASS BAND, Is going to be at Waikato Museum next Saturday 2pm . Anyone with guitar, banjo, fiddle etc invited to jam with him - free entry - to mark the current exhibition re the history of the band!!! Should be a great session. COME!!!!

Good preparation makes a good paint job

On Friday at a job for a family in Fairfield, I had a lot of sanding to do on this window sill. It had been heavily exposed to the sun, giving that crocodile peeling skin effect. A good thorough sand with the orbital sander (using p80 grit followed by p150 grit) provided a secure foundation for the subsequent paint coats. Judge for yourself with these before and after pictures below...
