Wellington Street beachgoers won’t have their revamped beach space finished before this summer, but their new favourite “temporary” pontoon is there to stay.
In January last year visitors to the river-side beach told the Waikato Times they were loving the new pontoon installed as a temporary replacement for the tired old jetty.

Fonterra has cut its forecast Farmgate Milk Price for the 2025/26 season after a ninth straight global dairy trade auction dip.
On Thursday, the Co-op adjusted the forecast range from $9-$10 per kilo of milk solids to $8.50 to $9.50 with the midpoint changing from $9.50 per to $9.
