TREE PLANTING EVENT RESCHEDULED TO 26 JUNE
EarthDiverse is please to announce it's annual multicultural tree planting event at Waiwhakareke Natural Heritage Park (near Zoo), has been rescheduled due to rain to Saturday 26 June, 10:30am-1:30pm. Use Rotokauri Rd entrance. Bring gloves, spade/shovel, water, etc. Light lunch provided. All invited. Fun, free and family-friendly! Many New Zealand gardens aren’t seeing as many monarch butterflies fluttering around their swan plants and flower beds these days — the hungry Asian paper wasp has been taking its toll.
Thanks to people like Alan Baldick, who’s made it his mission to protect the monarch, his neighbours still get to enjoy these beautiful butterflies in their own backyards.
