Santa's Workshop
The Hamilton Community Men's Shed offers men and women the opportunity to attend a supervised toy making workshop, to be held on five Thursday evenings from 7 to 9pm in November. Our shed is at the Ward Park Arts Complex, 2 Seddon Road.
The cost is $80 per person, covering all materials, (includes recycled Kauri timber) tools and tutor time. We will have samples and ideas of toys that you can make. Free membership of the shed to June 2019 is also included. Participants will be limited to the first 10 applicants.
The workshop is based on 'make and donate', with at least one toy to be given to our chosen charity, plus you will be able to make additional toys to keep for yourself.
Check out the course details on our Facebook page www.facebook.com...

Wild weather in the Waikato
The Waikato really copped it over the weekend, with wild weather leaving a hefty clean-up bill that may run into the millions.
While things are looking calmer in the days ahead, there are still plenty of slips and flooded roads across the district — so if you’re heading out, take it easy and stay alert.
We want to know: How did you and your whānau get on over the weekend?

Starting gun sounds for housing on Te Rapa Racecourse land with re-zoning
Hamilton City councillors have signed off on a plan change that could see Te Rapa Racecourse swap stables for townhouses.
The deputy mayor says this paves the way for “basically creating a new suburb within the city”.
